Fam recipe (Davenport)
Bran Muffins
2 c water
1 cube margarine
1 qt. buttermilk
5 t soda
4 eggs
1 t salt
2 c sugar
5 c flour
2 c All Bran cereal
3 c Bran Flakes (or corn flakes)
Boil water in a pan on the stove. Place in margarine to melt. Next pour in buttermilk. Last of all put in soda. In a bowl, mix eggs, salt, sugar and the liquid from the stove. Add remaining ingredients. Mix all together and put in a plastic bowl with a lid. Can store in the refrigerator for two to four weeks. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes in greased muffin tins. Nuts, dates or raisins can be added. Makes ~45 muffins.
