A Jason favorite. Also known as Three Milks Cake. There are other, more complicated recipes out there for this and some with chocolate mousse, which we haven't tried. We loved this one with fruit cut on top.
Tres Leche Cake
1 package white cake mix with pudding
1 cup whipping cream
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
2 tablespoons white cacao-flavored liqueur, if desired (I skipped this)
Topping:
1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sugar
Heat oven to 350° F. Spray 13x9-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray; set aside. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour into prepared pan. Bake as directed on package until toothpick in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pan. Meanwhile, combine whipping cream, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk and 2 tablespoons liqueur in large bowl. Beat at medium speed until well mixed. Poke holes with fork all over surface of cake. Slowly pour milk mixture over cake until completely soaked. Cover; refrigerate 3 hours or overnight.
Beat whipping cream, vanilla, and sugar together until thick. Spread over the top of cake. Be sure and keep cake refrigerated. Add cut up fruit (strawberries and/or kiwi, etc) just before serving.
