A new twist (for me) on an oriental salad - delicious!
Oriental Salad Gooseberry Patch
2 pkgs beef ramen noodles, crumbled
3/4 c sunflower seeds, toasted
3/4 c almonds, slivered
2 T butter, melted
16oz pkg shredded cabbage
1/2 c onion, chopped
1/2 c radish, chopped
1/2 c green pepper, chopped
1 c safflower oil (or olive)
1/3 c vinegar
1/2 c sugar
2 T soy sauce
2 beef flavor packets from ramen noodles
Spread ramen noodles, sunflower seeds, almonds and butter on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 15 mins or until brown. Let cool. In a large bowl, place ramen noodle mixture, cabbage, onion, radish and green pepper. In medium bowl, combine safflower oil, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce and beef packets; shake well. Thirty minutes prior to serving, add dressing. Serve well chilled. (I prefer to use less dressing.)
