One-Ingredient Healthy Ice Cream!

 My brother first introduced this to me and then I found it on a website. Yay for no sugar, corn syrup, etc etc. And it's delicious! Source: thekitchen.com

One-Ingredient Healthy Ice Cream 

Very ripe bananas

Chop up the bananas and place in freezer-safe container or bag. Freeze for at least 2 hours or preferably overnight. Pulse in food processor (best) or very powerful blender. Then start blending - scrape down as you go. Eventually it will turn into smooth, creamy, custard-like ice cream! Blend for a few more seconds to aerate the ice cream. (If adding any mix-ins, like peanut butter or chocolate chips, this is the moment to do it.) Transfer to an airtight container and freeze until solid, like traditional ice cream. 

Mix-in ideas:

Spoonful of peanut butter

Drizzle of honey

Handful of chocolate chips

A few almonds

Dollop of Nutella

Scoop of cookie butter

Tablespoon of cocoa powder

Half a teaspoon of cinnamon, cardamom, or ginger


Makes about 1 cup with 1 banana
